Default Ribbon Spikes

How do you put your ribbon spikes together??? I found one thread on here that had a way to do it and I really like it and it works really well. I just saw a bow on Etsy and LOVED the way the spikes looked and wanted to figure it out so that I could do both ways. Just wondering if you sew or hot glue your spikes and how you lay them out!?!? I'm not terribly new to bow making so I've done A LOT of research and my bows are finally getting to where they look acceptable! LOL
Here is a picture of one of the bows I liked...(mind you I don't want to copy this ladies stuff...I just really liked the style and wanted to learn another way to do spikes).

Make sure you post a link to the picture. It is against the forum rules to post other people's photos on here.....unless you are linking to it. This gives the owner credit for their photo.

I just checked your etsy store. It looks like you can make those spikes already. If you are trying to figure out how to use more spikes just fan them out.

OK...thanks for the info...I just added a link...I didn't know that I needed to do that! :-)
I guess her spikes are just so straight and the 2 at the top point straight up and mine fan out to the side. I didn't know if maybe she didn't sew those in and just hot glued them on top or what??

I am not sure how she does them but you should be able to do it. All you have to do is add more spikes. It will seem like a lot but the two spikes that point straight up at the top will look like a tall skinny "x" before you sew or burn slots through them. There is a thread on here on spikes alone. Let me see if I can find it.

In this thread all you have to do is click on the search this thread tab and type in "spikes" and you will get the posts that talk about spikes. It will be easier for you to filter out all of the other tips.

Here is another one that is on spikes alone:

I love this lady's technique. She's an HG member too.

I like the look of the spikes so much that way I have made just spikes for flip flops and have had a few requests to do them as pigtail sets too.

Yep, I love this way http://hairbowswonderworld.blogspot....-boutique.html

And I also do this method (pinching in middle and then layering on top of each other with embroidery thread)
