Default Grrr...My top hat won't stay on my daughter's head!!!

Hi gals, So I made a top hat from scratch for DD (I wasn't quick enough to get in on a group buy ). I think it turned out super cute. Problem is I can't get it to stay on her head! At first I used elastic but that was too big and when I made it tighter she didn't like it. Then I tried the alligator clip method of putting two alligator clips on the edges...That was even worse. Not only did it not sit right on her head but it kept slipping out. Do you gals have any suggestions? Maybe my hat is too heavy? That's all I can think of even though it's not really heavy at all IMO. I made it out of stiffened felt. Please help! TIA. XOXO Amy

You can always glue it onto a headband and use felt circles under it to hold in on to the headband. Thatís just a thought other than that and what you have already tried Iím all out of ideas lol.

Thanks. Anyone else have ideas? Does the brim have to be curved towards her head maybe?

put it on a metal headband. That works for Charli's fine hair!

Did you put the clips on opposite ways? Does this make sense? One on each side but with the pinch end one way and then the other way on the other side?

No, I put them the same way...Do you think that would help doing opposite directions? I will try that.

I thought about the metal headband which would probably work best, but Audrey's head is too small for the headbands. Right now they just fall right off her petite little head.

Thanks for the advice ladies!
