What size headband are you using? I've heard that you should use at least 3" headband for the skirts.

I use the by the yard stuff so I can adjust the size, always taking off an inch or two from waist messurements, if you get it by the yard you will get a lot more for your money than buying the premade headbands. I actually like weaving ribbon through them when I am not doing a custom order so that they are more universal in size. Your tutu is super cute by the way!

I'll ask the same, what was the width of the headband? I've heard the wider the better to avoid stretchage. Like the ribbon idea though!

I use the 2 3/4" headbands for tutus and have no problem with them stretching. And I use 6" and 8" headbands for tutu dresses. These have been a hit because a lot of people like the softer feel of the crochet headbands on the waist of their little ones rather than the feel of the tulle.

I ave recently started using the headbands to make my tutus. I have been using the 1.5 in headbands, but doubling them up. I havent noticed any major stretching.

The tutu itself came out very pretty! Maybe you could add some elastic? I've never made one using the headbands so I don't know.

make sure your knots are very very tight, and if needed you can run a ribbon through the band.

Ditto - so time consuming!
