Default Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong!

I'm attempting just a normal boutique bow (I think). I've watched a million tutorials but I'm just not getting it!

Can you tell me what I'm doing wrong?

You are putting the second loop when you fold it in way too far up. You also need to be stitching through the center at least twice (in and out in and out) on this size bow. And I think you could benefit by maybe using a little less ribbon, idk what look you are going for though.

Also I do all this in my hand, I know you were taking pics, but when I set it down on the table things seem to slip.

Let me know if that makes sense! :]

The third picture your thumb is touching the back of the bow. You need to pick the bow up, turn it over and bring the loops closer together to make a narrow "x". Hope this helps.

Thanks everyone. I know I have to work on it a LOT more, but I just couldn't understand where I was messing up. I wish I knew someone that could physically SHOW me, but I don't know anyone around here local to help so videos, tutorials, and your advice is all I have!

Honestly...it looks like you just need to work on your crease. Do you feel like this technique works best for you or have you tried other ways to make a twisted boutique bow (TBB)? Everyone can't do the same techniques. I have done it this way but I prefer during it the more traditional way.

Love you avatar picture! It's too darn cute!

My advice would be the fold and how you sew. Once I followed the exact directions on it my bows pretty came together then. HTH!

I agree with above... but I also think you need to shorten your ribbon.. I usually use 13 to 14 inches
