Default How to make this satin flower?

Just wondering if anyone knows how to get the edges of the satin curl up like this? What a beautiful hairpiece!!!

This is just circles of cut satin, right?

Thank you!http://www.etsy.com/listing/71519809...in-flower-hair

It's a singed flower. There's lot of tutorials out there for them and they are fairly simple to make. You just need to get satin that won't flame up on you

you can use either a candle or a lighter and you seal around them similar to heat sealing the edges of ribbon

And man does it stink when it does! I always have a bowl of water at the ready just in case I can't blow it out quick enough.

When you first start making them I would recommend poly satin. Doesn't catch fire as easy and the edges won't blacken as quickly. These are so much fun to make!! Just play with different size circles. I cut a leaf shape and singe it to add to mine. Can't wait to see what you come up with

BlessedMom...Your flowers are beautiful!... I yours are unique in that they are ruffly instead of curled up. I have only used Poly Satin and it has worked quite well...I does catch on fire sometimes if you hold in the flame too long but I think the trick is to move slowly into the flame and quickly.
