Are you looking to make them for your little one or for sale?? I ask because they are VERY time consuming and take tons of tulle and cutting and sewing and gathering and sewing again!!

I made one for my little one and it took a lot of time, I bought the instructions thinking I may make to sell.....but now I know why they are so expensive!!! Lot's of TIME!!!

I don't know if that helps any but if you want to sell I would say...go for it IF you don't have little ones who need a lot of attention still!! To make for your doll, the satisfaction is well worth it!!

I found instructions on marthastewart.com and it says you use chiffon so I am not sure if we are talking about the same thing?

You can use Tulle or Chiffon!! I used a soft tulle for mine. I will add photos later this evening if I can.

Here are a couple of pics of my 1st Pettiskirt, It's definately not as full as normal, but I think it has to do with the fact I used the tulle instead of the chiffon.....not to mention I didn't add one of the rows of fluff on the bottom because I was just fet up! I am going to try it again and do it with the chiffon and use a gathering foot next time to see if it saves on time.

Let me know how it goes for you when you make yours!!

The expensive pettiskirts (Kyia Eve...mispelled, I think) are made from chiffon. I paid 90 bucks for daughter's pettiskirt and it's so freakin' adorable that I could just cry. Check out my myspace page...it's the avatar pic: MySpace.com - N-Style Boutique - 34 - Female - COLLEGE STATION, Texas - www.myspace.com/nstyleboutique

The lady that wrote those instructions said it took her about 8 hours to make her first pettiskirts. She said she can make them in about 4 hours now, if she works really hard.
