Default Another headband tutu question...

Hi ladies!

So, I have a big craft show May 21-23 and I wanted to make tutus on headbands so it's really a one size fits all type of deal. We made a tutu last night and we had three layers (filled holes on the bottom, then the next row then next row) and it really stretched it out so that a newborn could not wear it.

What do I do so that it doesn't stretch it out so much? Should I do every other hole? Will the layer above cover the bare spots? I don't want to skimp out on material but I would love to have a one size fits all type of deal.

Plus I was thinking this would be great for the store that carries my tutus as well.

i don't really think these are a one size fits all kind of thing.... because personally i make the skirts a shorter length for babies and longer for older girls..

maybe you could do a baby length and a toddler length and offer just 2 types of one size fits all?

I would do different lengths but my problem is the headband as the waist. I want it to stay small for babies but it stretched out a lot and it fit my 3.5 year old.

I'm trying to figure out how to not have the headband stretch out too much.

are you using the normal 1.5" headband or a larger one? i've used the larger headbands and i've never had this problem

I'm using 1.5" and I think unstretched they are 5" wide.

I've always read to use the 2.5" or wider when using headbands for tutus. Try that...

I've worried about tutus on headbands stretching too, have pondered in my mind about sewing an additional elastic lining in there or something...
