Default Lining alligator clips ?

I've only used hot glue to line my alligator clips but it seems like many people use double stick tape. What do you think works best? What is the difference between partially lined and fully lined clips? Also I've seen different options for the no-slip grip? I think they're called Gripzies (sp) or I've seen that people have used shelf liner cut to size. The bows I have bought I believe were done with the shelf liner but am not sure which most people prefer. Sorry for all the questions. I'm new to this whole bow-making thing

I use a glue call E6000 to line my clips. I was using hot glue but found that the ribbon was falling off the clip. I bought some double sided tape, but didnt care for it. I partically line my clips, so the ribbon is on the top of the clip and only half way on the bottom of the clip. I also use shelf liner that I bought at the Dollar Store. All of my customers love it!

I have only ever used hot glue for my clips. I buy my glue sticks from Michaels. I found that the Walmart brand was bad and it didn't hold things well but the MIchaels one is great!

Lining - I partially line because it doesn't get caught in the hair and I find that with the bottom still being pointy it pushes through the hair better. The fully lined ones I have are a struggle to put in sometimes.

Non-Slip Grip - I use silicone. I take a glob on a flat stick and spread it on the clip. I used the dollar store shelf liner stuff and hated it.

I know this thread is old, but I've been lining mine with e6000. They look awesome and are sturdy, but I'm incredibly slow at it, haha!

I'm thinking of switching to tape, and looking for recommendations on brands (maybe there are some newer ones than those from the old posts?). Or maybe things to look for or avoid?

Thanks in advance!

I no longer have time to line my clips, but I have found that tape does NOT work. I have ordered from several differnt ladies and each one that used tape (even if the ends were glued) the middle of the ribbon would pull away from the clip once the bow was attached.

I use a hot glue gun. Sometimes it works better than others.

It seems to work better if I move quickly; but not too quickly, that's when I tend to get burned.
