Question bows stiff??

So I've seen in the free section for bows you can mix potato starch with water and boil it to make the stiffener. I'm wondering can you use cornstarch??

Do you have to use this on bows? I never have and they look great, but after reading further i'm wondering if i should be using this!

I used starch as well. I actually fry them with a hair dryer, though.

Hmm maybe I'm going to try that not like it's 100 extra steps! I'm pretty new to bow making (I only have boys, no girls, but I make them for all the little girls I know haha!!) and I only can make a few well, but I'm learning and having tons of fun and it gives me a break from my other crafts...

Are there bows you HAVE to spray otherwise they wont hold?

i spray mine especially when i make the 7 inch & the 8 inch size bow so the loops wont droop...but i have also started to spray all of them after reading that if you throw them in your purse even if they get squished they will bounce back to life

I have been using the potato starch for the last 25 yrs. This is the first time I have ever seen anyone suggest it on board. My secret is out! Works so much better the all the starches you buy!
