depends on length of tutu - I make mine 6" and a 14" waist, and they use between 25-50 ft of the 6" tulle on rolls (2 small rolls).

Here is how I do my calculations:

Waist size x 5 strips tulle/inch (eg 16 x 5 = 80 strips needed)
80 strips x length (eg 80 x 12(you need to double the length you want)= 960"
960" / 36" (36" = 1 yard) = 26.6667 yards = 27 yards

This would make a 16" waist tutu that is 6" long.

You can make them more poofy or longer.. it all depends on your preference.

Ultimately, you'll need 2x 25 yard spools, even though you might only use a couple of yards from the second spool...

But look at the bright side -- you'll have lots of tulle to start your next tutu!!
