Default Tutu help?

Hello,

Im new to the forum! I have a shop on etsy and am currently selling hair bows but am wanting to offer tutus...however mine are just SOOO flat. Ive tried the different tying techniques and see to gain some fullness by using the double knot as opposed to slip knot, but still not what Im wanting to achieve....I also should say I do no sew.

This pic is NOT mine, but I am just amazed by the fullness of this tutu...any idea how to get this type of fullness? This tutu is amazing!!

Thanks for any help!! Cant wait to get to know everyone!

You can make it fuller by using more tulle in each layer. Also can use headbands.

have you tried to layer two or three stripes of tulle on top of each other and tieing them on like that together?

When I make a tutu I use at least 5 strands per inch of elastic.

So on a tutu where it's 20 inches (which I cut the elastic 3 inches shorter than desired length as it will stretch) I use 100 strands of tulle.

Here is a pic of one of my tutus.

I use the double knot method and use 2 or 3 layers per knot. I use about 65-75 yards of tulle per tutu, and they seem to be pretty full and fluffy.

I was where you are two years ago. It was WELL worth it to me to buy a tutorial for under $10 that taught me SO much. Just a thought.

I have not tried this yet....I was afraid it would make the elastic waistband too bulky and uncomfortable? Does it not do that?

I sew them and use so much less tulle and they look really full. You only need to sew a straight line. I can sew one in about 10-15 mins and the tieing is very time consuming. I also think that the sewn ones hold up better for travel and play after a photo opp.
Just my two cents.
