Default Stacked bow falling off clip

I had a customer email me today informing me that one of my stacked bows fell off the alligator clip it was attached to. Has this ever happened to anyone else? I am soo embarrased!

I was very careful and glued the bow on really tightly...I am assuming that it was too heavy for the alligator clip (I used hot glue). Should I start using E 6000 or what?

I always sew my bows right around the clip to prevent it from coming off.

Coulda just been a fluke deal! I've never had that happen and I always just hot glue them on...If none of the rest of your bows have never done it I wouldn't worry too much. I would offer to fix the bow for her and maybe throw in a free clippie of something

Agreed, you can't expect everything to work perfectly all the time. Once in a while there will be a fluke.

Thanks for this tip...this is what I am going to start doing with mine. I can not use E6000 due to the fumes, and think this will be the best way to do them for now on.

So you make the bow, sew it onto the alligator clip, then line the clip over the thread?

I would glue the clip on before you add the center knot, then attach the knot "ends" to the clip so its all just one piece. It'll be more secure that way and stronger as well. If you just attach the clip to the back of a finished bow that is a bit heavy I can totally see it coming detached. Hope this helps

I like this method! I use it for my bigger bows sometimes!

Yuck on the E6000; don't use the stuff and it even makes the bows smell bad after they're dried! Ditto what the others have said - wrap your "wrap" around the clips as well and you'll get double protection.

This is how I glue all my my bows to the clips. I haven't had one come off yet...not to say one never will...but so far so good.
