Hi, thanks for write, this is the right place to learn about bottlecaps.
I read that you should use MATTE photo paper.
I found these videos where you can learn how to do your own images, I didnīt try yet, but I will, and I will tell you.

I used to make my images just in WORD 2007. Then I print in lasser, 85grms paper.
Please let me know what you think.

Each time you enlarge an image, particularly if you are trying to get it to a size you need, say from anything to a bottlecap to an iron on image for a T-shirt, you may risk this distortion from the original image.

Without going all technical, it might help you and alleviate some frustration if you play with the "Paint" program that is installed on all Microsoft systems (in other words, you don't use an Apple computer)..it has a built in help system. Play with resizing & print preview and you'll get a better idea what might print out well. Play around with it a bit and enlarge your workspace to be close or equal to an 8 1/2x 11" of paper. Then place your graphic and see what it looks like in print preview. Enlarge or reduce, save, look again. When you think you're close, print in black & white (color cartridges are expensive)

That's about as simple an answer as I can give & I prototyped computer graphics for the Gov't back in my day. Now graphics programs abound & it's still not a simple answer, particularly if you're not using any program that will automatically scale and size your images, say for the bottlecaps. One of the reasons you have people who are either selling the images or providing the services...what looks simple, isn't until you get behind the technology.

You may want to look into a label program, such as Avery uses. They may have 1" templates you can play around with...until then, you might do okay on a single image basis playing around with something like I've described on a trial and error basis. Good luck!
I use WORD 2007, how can I paste here the images, so I can show the way it looks?

Just be careful with the Xyron sticker paper. I used to use that and while doing a lot of holiday boutiques noticed that some of them were flying off the bottle cap... same with diamond glaze and mod podge. Maybe its my my photo paper with the metal since I switched to a resin type of photo paper because it gives me a sharper image.

I'm now using a few dabs of E6000 to adhere the ones I sell. I'm still able to use diamond glaze for the scrabble tiles and they adhere fine.

i really want to learn to make bottlecaps also. I'm a little nervous about what images to use due to copyrighting like any of the disney ones. I see all these cute images on bottlecaps over on etsy but have no idea where they find some of them (like ones with shoes and princess crowns). any suggestions

Hi, what you think is the diference between: just print on sticker paper or use the Xyron sticker paper?

Hi! and welcome! Look, I know that some of those images on ETSY are create by they own, in that case, they sell the images with the permisions, so you can use for your own charms or for sell them. The thing that you canīt do is to resell the images. That is forbidden.
About the images like disney, you can use them just for you, for example, for your birthday, o for a necklace, but not for sell, it coud be a problem if you decide to sell a lot of that.
Finally, some of the graphics are taken from the internet, if you like, I coul send you a few I make be myself in WORD.
I would like to help.
