Default Cutting korkers on dowels

I dont know how to do this.. I tried and ended up with korkers that seem to be sealed by someone drunk! not even one straight cut!..so my question is does this need what? practice? a special tip? if someone could help me or post a picture on how can this be done I will be thankful for the rest of my life

I've never cut my korkers on the dowel. I take them off and when I cut them I stretch it out so it's flat and cut (I use a wood burning tool so it seals at the same time). When you let go it rolls up again and this way all your ribbon is the same length.

I also make my korkers that way.. with woodburner and measuring while laying flat the ribbon, but it takes looong so I read that cutting them on the dowel saved lots of time... so I was wondering if I was doing something wrong because not only took waaaay longer but I hat to re-seal every single cut!

somebody posted something a while back about using 12 inch rods, folding in half, cut, fold in half again and cut, 4 even 3 inch peices but yes you would have to heat seal the ends. Sorry Im not much help, but I usually mass bake for a couple weeks, cut and heat seal, keep all my peices in a 3 drawer tower divided into colors, dots/stripes, prints HTH

I have to say that I have never heard of cutting it on the dowel... but I'm pretty sure there are lots of things I don't know (but don't let my hubby know that!)
