Default Do you know how to "cut out" a digital scrapbook embellishment?

I am working (with VERY little photoshop knowledge) on creating a new shop banner. I purchased some .png embellishment files. I thought the background was transparent, but when I put them onto my design, it leaves a white box around them. Does anyone know how to get rid of this white box, or if and when it will go away?

TIA!

You have to extract it. If you want me to, I will do it for you, just email it to me and I will shoot it back to you.

Also, it has been 147+ days since I have seen my DH, so don't expect me to be all rainbows and sunshine when you are being stupid. Oh, let us not forget the glitter.

YOu are soooo sweet! I have like 9 little flowers though. I don't want you to have to do them all. Is it hard?

I don't work with PS so I am not sure that the steps are the same. It would take me a few minutes. If you want to call me and maybe I can talk you through it that is cool too. Either way is no biggie, just let me know!

I keep trying to read about. I think I need to select it, then after the whole image is selected, then I need to click select inverse. Does that sound right?

Something like that. With Corel I have to select "Extract Object" then I would like it and click next. Then I click outside of the selected area and it creates a translucent background. I then choose the detail extraction level and then clean up the lines. After it is extracted I open a new file with a transparent background and copy and paste it into that and save as a .PSD or something similar depending on what I need to do with it.
