Post Tutu Dress-Is it itchy?

I am thinking about making the tutu halter dress for my nieces but was wanting input first. Has anyone dealt firsthand with the one wearing them? Are they itchy against the skin? They look to me like they would be and I know how picky my nieces are.

TIA, Linda

My daughter wore one that I made her for Halloween, but she had it on over another shirt/pants because it was cold. And I wrapped the top w/ satin ribbon because it seems like that would be the area most likely to itch - I think that would help a lot.

My customers have told me that is why they like the crochet band tops....they don't itch.

If you get the super soft tulle it shouldn't be itchy. But I agree with the pp that said she wrapped the waist with satin ribbon....I do the same thing because it seems like it would bother little bellies.

I also wanted to say that I agree with satin ribbon too, but you will use about 5 yards trying to wrap one tutu.

I wrap all of mine even though I use soft tulle. I would just think it would itch under the arms. I use 5 yards of 7/8 satin. I think it makes it look more finished too.

Hi!! I am making a tutu dress for a wedding & wanted some input! I have seen them wrapped with satin ribbon on the top, how do you do that? How is it attached? Sewn at the ends?

Thank you so much!
