Default My dd is going to be Cinderella in her ballet recital, and I need a little help, lol.

Any ideas for making a Cinderella hairstyle that will stay in while she dances? I've looked on YouTube, but all the updo styles are too loose. Also, I don't make headbands, and I know Cinderella wears one, so I'd love some suggestions about where to buy one or even how to make one (eek-but that's only in case I get desperate!).

I did this for Halloween this year!! All I did was pull her hair up in a high pony. I left the bangs out and swept them to the side and held them in place with a bobby pin. Next I took small sections every few inches and braided them securing each with a small rubber band. Finally, I took each loose section and each braided section and rolled them under, towards the ponytail and pinned them, with bobby pins, on the bottom of the curl to the hair on the scalp just out side of the pony tail. I did 2 pins per curl and crossed them to form an "X."

Hope this helps. She wore just a plain headband. You could even tie a ribbon around her head and pin it in place so that it doesn't fall

This website has some beautiful styles, but they are mostly braids. Not sure if it will help or not.http://www.princesshairstyles.com/

I do pageant hair for my sister and we use about 2-3 packages of bobbypins, bumpits and nearly a full can of the hardest super hold spray you can find.

We do her up do and then she dances afterwards...so it needs to be ROCK hard!

This is my little one as Cinderella, I just bought the material at wal-mart for the headband and attached a rosette. Her hair is too loose for a recital but when my LO does ballet i put her hair in a ponytail and just wrap portions of her hair into a curl and pin it, when i pin it i cross the bobby pins so it stays and it usually works...

oh and i did have a bump it in her hair

These are adorable--what cute little girls! I'm going to show these to my dd and see if we can make something similar. Thanks so much!

We just went to Disney and of course my youngest had to dress up like her fav. Princess. I did the best I could with her hair. It took some trial and error but I like the way it turned out. I am going to try to post a tut on my blog by the end of this week but if you need one sooner I can try to help out. I used a ton of hair spray and made it pretty tight. I think it held up pretty well considering it lasted through a whole day at the Magic Kingdom! LOL! Oh and the headband was a totally makeshift one! LOL! I had big plans to sew one up, but instead I just used some left over fabric from her dress and folded and glued here and there and then added some elastic at the bottom.

Anyone else remember Aqua Net? That stuff was like spray glue in a can, but I haven't seen it in a store for years. I'll have to look for the modern version.

This is lovely! You made the dress too?! A tut would have me in your debt for life, lol. The recital isn't until May, so I've got plenty of time to mess around. She does a lot of dancing, so whatever I do has to be cemented into place, but I'm prepared to modify as needed.
