Actually, one of the times she put them on was for a photo shoot (she was being featured in some community newspaper thingy). The baby was dressed to the 9's and she had these toe blooms on her.

But babies *do* suckle their toes. Babies can put their entire foot in their mouths. Well, the baby was in a Moses cradle and on the floor so she wasn't at anyone's eye level. Sure enough, the baby had sucked soooo hard on the bling piece, she started to gag like crazy.

Jmo, but I'd only put these on kids that no longer suckle their own feet.
That would be scary!! I'm sure the person who makes them would put a warning in with them when she sells them. I don't think I would leave them on my baby unattended with them on.

they are sooo, soooo adorable!

Here is her disclaimer:

ToeBlooms contain small parts. Although all flowers, buttons, and rhinestones are strongly secured, we recommend parent supervision of children who are wearing our products. All of our products come with a small parts safety note.

The baby was not unattended. Sorry, but I agree with my neighbor (and from watching Christine nibble on her own toes and feet constantly when she was younger).

Everyone has their own level of risk they're willing to take

I totally agree. I wouldn't leave them on the baby if I wasn't able to keep a constant watch on her. Just for pictures or something.

Their disclaimer pretty much covers it. This is definitely something we need to keep in mind when making products for use on small children.

Very cute product. Still would like to find a tutorial.

I had a look around on google and found a tut for beaded sole-less (or barefoot shoes) sandals.

Perhaps measure around the ankle, measure from the base of the toe to the ankle & add a loop to go over the toe.

I would like to find one without beads. Will try googling. Thank you.

Wow that is crazy. I'm glad her little one is ok. My 20month old still sucks on her toes and everything else for that matter, so I'm not sure if I'll do these, but wouldn't mind my youngest wearing them. These are really cute. I'm going to have to try and make them. I was thinking that it was possibly elastic around the toe area.

I think I agree with you, but instead of bling I would try to embroider something on the top
