Default Stupid Tutu Question

Is it possible to make a tutu lay this flat and it be double layered? I have an order for an Easter tutu and she wants it to be like this, but double layered. Skinnier elastic? I am not sure. I usually make fluffy tutus. :-)

Longer pieces make it lay more flat, if you just use the regular slipknot and alternate colors in one layer around the elastic it should work.

Yeah but she wants it to be double layered so that it isn'ty see through at all. Hmmm....plus her kid is only 2. waist to knee is 9 inches and she doesn't want it below the knee. I am kind of at a loss.

I am not sure if I can make this sound right. When you tie the knots on the elastic you know how you can make the tulle that sits on the elastic thick or narrow depending on how you gather the tulle? What about if you did one layer with tulle not gathered at the knot (so that it covers like a half inch to an inch of the elastic) and then do another layer between those, still keeping the tulle spread out above the knot.

I hope that make some kind of sense lol. You will use less tulle and still have that double layer effect.

Also, it has been 147+ days since I have seen my DH, so don't expect me to be all rainbows and sunshine when you are being stupid. Oh, let us not forget the glitter.

Basically...don't pull the knot as tight and tie it between?

I will have to try that. I usually use square knots and I think that makes it stick out, but I like mine like that. She said she wouldn't be too upset if it stuck out a little.

I like the square knots too. I think that the slip knots make them lay flatter.
