Default Question about lining alligator clips

This is all new to me so I apologize if this is a silly question....

Why would someone partially line an alligator clip? Why not just fully line it?

I get that fully lined are used for applique clippies. What do you use partially lined ones for?

Thanks Ladies!

I use partially lined for everything! When I first started making bows I tried the fully lined in dd's hair and it didn't stay nearly as well as the partially lined.

I use them on all my bows.

All of my customers prefer partially lined clips over fully lined (I offer fully lined as an alternative, and no one requests them). They hold better and they slide into pigtails better. I purchased some fully lined clips way back before I started making bows and I much prefer partially lined, myself. I use partially lined clips for everything - applique clips, bows, etc.

Not a silly question at all!

I actually make both... full and partial. However, I do add no-slip grips to both styles.

It all really just depends what mood I'm in

I partially line because fully lined clips are a little tricky to slide into hair that is in a ponytail or piggies. I offer it but have never had anyone take me up on it. Then again, I offer nonslip upon request and rarely have anyone request that, either.

For me, it's just easier to get them into the hair when they are only partially lined. I never fully line them

The fully lined clips are very hard to get through a child hair, especially like my DD who has naturally curly hair. Also, it makes the clips too thick to fit through interchangable headbands or crochet headbands if they are fully lined. HTH!
