Default how to make those cute little clay centers?

Does anyone know where I can find a good tut for making those cute little polymer clay centers? I've searched a little bit and all I can find is beads and basic shapes...I want to learn how to make the cute little animals and the adorable little people out of them that I see so much centering bows!

Tyia!

I have just bought mine in the past and from past experience the clay centers dont hold up very well. MOst of the time they were damaged just in shipping me the centers so I stopped using them. I had read somewhere that you can coat the clay with something to help them stay together, but not sure what it would be or if it works. I have seen books at HL for clay animals and shapes.

Thanks ladies! I have seen the books at HL and they just didn't seem as cute as the ones I see in the middle of the bows lol

i had thought about making them but with sooo much on my plate i am not going to add something else BUT if i were to do them i would print out images of what you want and use them as 'templates' putting the clay on top of it until you get the wanted results and then bake

i have some and i got them online and they were packaged in bubble wrap and then tissue paper and then in a bubble mailer and they werent broken whatsoever, so i think it all depends on the wrapping prior to mailing them

I dont call myself an expert in making poly clay centres but I do make them, I started a few months ago so am still very new to doing it but to start off with id decide what i wanted to make then google it and try and find a nice picture of what i wanted and use that to work off of. break it down into pieces and basic shapes and try and work from there, i also googled some basic poly clay techniques and watched a few youtube videos to get the basics down, basically just play with your clay as far as I'm concerned its all trial and error really till you become comfortable with the clay. here are a couple of what I have made and as you can see im still very much a beginner but i hope what I've said here helps you
