Default Best way to make tutu elastic, ribbon, headband?

I just started making tutu's. I have done them on elastic. But the elastic always stretches out. I was thinking of trying ribbon, definately more adjustable. I also saw it on crochet headbands, and I thought that might feel better then the scratchy tulle. Would love to hear what others do. Thanks.

I do all of the above...it really just depends on customer preference. It takes a while to get used to using elastic and finding a way to tie the knots so that the elastic doesn't stretch too much. I do a lot of newborn ones on ribbon, but you have to use exact measurements when using ribbon. HTH

my 13 y/o dd loves tutus so i have always used elastic for hers...just make it a quite a bit smaller than the hip measurements. but i am venturing into tiny tutus and will probably use ribbon.

I do both elastic and ribbon. It's a matter of personal preference and/or customer preference.

I prefer working with elastic. I do waist size minus 3 inches to compensate for the stretching and have never had a problem.

I dont make tutu's, but buy a ton of them for my now 3 year old daughter. I have bought them before with the crochet band, but I love the elastic better. I feel like the crochet headbands come up way to high around her waist, but she is very petite for her age so that may be the reason. I personally just like the look of it on the elastic, but I know people who prefer the crochet headband. Good luck!

You can do any of them, customers preference. I use elastic cut it a few inch short as it stretchs and sew it.
The ribbon method will have gapping as they get bigger
the crochet method ive read ppl have complained it looses its elasticity
