What size are the Squares for the Tsumami Kanzashi flowers?

I was hoping that some one knows how big the squares are for the Tsumami Kanzashi flowers . I have bought the book and just got it. The only problem is that it's in japenese. So any help ladies would be great.

I think it depends on the size of the petals you want and the width of the ribbon. Does that make sense? Ok, the thing is you have to try to get the squares even. 1" or 1 1/2" depends on the ribbon.

yup.. 1 or 1 1/2

i used grossgrain.. which isnt really what it calls for but its what i had avalible for my first try.. so i used 1 1/2 width ribbon and made cuts every 1 1/2 inches.. wahlaa! i found some 1 1/2 satin ribbon ill try when i get a chance
