Default Question about lining a metal headband using double sided tape

Okay, so I use metal headbands that are about 3/8 in wide and I have lined a few of them with 3/8 in grosgrain ribbon using double sided tape. I don't wrap the ribbon around the headband but rather just line it straight up and down the headband. My daughter doesn't wear these yet as she is only 18 mos old but I was wondering if others did this and if was durable. I just worry that the ribbon will peel off. The double sided tape doesn't seem that strong sometimes. Thanks. I just don't want to use this method with my headbands if they are going to be problematic for customers.

This is how I do it too, my only problem is figuring out how to make the ends look nice and tidy. I haven't had an issue with the ribbon coming off unless I am using something that is stretchy.

Good luck!

I just extend the ribbon to the other side about an inch with double sided tape too. You can't really tell and it looks pretty good.

I guess it just depends on the ribbon. I think my biggest issue is when I line them with the glitter ribbon. I feel like it gets stuck in my girls hair, but maybe its just because the ribbon is thicker.

i actually hot glue the ends to keep them from pulling up

weird thing -- i had my craft show stuff in storage in the garage. the EXTREME cold actually made some of the ribbon pull away from the DS tape! so i have to re-do a bunch of headbands

Maybe I should try that - I want to use some for these rolled rosettes that I ordered and I wouldn't want the headband to be a mess.
