Great tips ladies!!

My tip is to make a work kit! I used to keep mine in a tool box but now I just keep it in a plastic bin with a top (it worked better for me that way!)

I keep a kit with scissors, glue gun, extra glue sticks, needle, thread, ruler, and anything else I might need for bow making and keep it in a bin. I also keep my "ribbon recipe" chart that has all of my lengths of ribbon for what size bow and all that jazz on it. This way I can throw a few spools of ribbon in and my templates and hit the road (or carry it to my den or wherever I plan to go) without having to "gather" stuff or "put it away" when I'm done!

dot a bit of hot glue to the end of a new stick when you load it. This way it does not slip back out.
I like this one!! I'm always pushing it back in!

my tip is to get a silicone pot holder (found mine in cheapy isle near the checkouts at my Walmart) and use it to put your hot glue on. when glue drips on it and dries you just peal it off and throw it away. no messy pieces of cardboard like I used to use.

When threading a needle, fold the thread and poke the loop through the hole instead of putting the end in your mouth or purchasing a threader. The loop pushes through and then you just pull it out the small end of the thread on the other side.

Read a magazine with a good recipe, craft idea or article? Then later you can't find which issue had the craft in it? This used to happen to me a lot. Now, I tape an index card on the back of the magazine or cookbook and write what I liked. Months later when I'm trying to find the cute way to paint a chair I found at a yardsale, I can flip through the backs of the books w/o opening each and searching for hours.

Do you have a coffee cup at home? That's what I use. I turn the wood burner tool on and put it tip down into the cup. That way, I don't have any need for a stand or holder

lol...this is what i am doing, using pieces of cardboard! i love this idea!!

don't know how usefull this will be for others but for me it has saved me time and money! i used to keep my scraps of ribbon all mixed in one drawer and there were times that i would buy MORE ribbon when i already had it! so what i did is sort out all my scraps by width and put them in separate big ziplock bags by size. so now i know what i need!

also as my ribbon runs out i cut a small piece of it and put it in a separate baggie so when i need to buy it i know exactly what width and color i need to get!

This tip is originally from lilredsmiles (thanks again!)

When adding a knotted center to your bow she recommends:

1) make the knot
2) pin it to the center of the bow
3) fold the ends in half lengthwise to make the ribbon thinner
4) wrap & glue
