i never thought about waxing the needle!

but i have been watching the videos where their thread gets tangled/looped and shout at my computer screen that there's a solution!

i always run my thread thru a beeswax candle - no twisting/knotting. they also sell it in a little plastic container at the sewing store notions just for this purpose.

i wish the ladies making these utube videos would use it cause i cringe every time it happens to them!

Hotfix substitute shared by Gracie's Mom:

If you want to use hotfix stones but don't own the hotfix tool, use the the pointed tip of a wood burner to heat them up.

Got creases in your ribbon...don't want to set up the iron???

Use a hair straightener, just be careful when using it on prints/dots

I am surprised at the number of these tips I already use

Keep them coming girls

When making clothing for children, here is a handy reference measurement chart you can use . This works great for tutus as well (Data provided by US standard clothing sizes)

When adding a knotted center to your bow she recommends:

1) make the knot
2) pin it to the center of the bow
3) fold the ends in half lengthwise to make the ribbon thinner
4) wrap & glue
That's a great idea. I usually do fold my ends in half, but sometimes the knot will slip off the center ever so slightly.
Thanks!
Janice

For those of us with die cut machines. When your acrylic plate starts looking gunky from all the stuff in the grooves, use a nail brush and scrub it up. I do this dry and it gets all the little things out of the grooves.

My Michaels has 1.99 jewelry/bead sorter, compartment boxes . These are usually about 9.00. Thats not clearance either- 1.99 regular! I bought 10 of them.
