I would put a little hot glue in the area on the clippie where your resin will sit (under the ribbon, on the clip) Then your clippie will still be nice and flat, but have a little extra hold where the ribbon is going to be covered with the resin.

I did let the tape cure (it was about 72 hours later when I checked them) and the resin still pulled away from it

I've used hot glue by itself and my resins will not stay. The resin is easily picked off. Not sure why?

Hot glue doesn't work for me with resins

Do you use just the hot glue or hot glue with tape? I definitely need the extra hold.

I do know what you are talking about...I line the clip with the tape and E6000 the resin and let it set. THen I check all of the clips to see if any of the ribbon pulls when I test the resin....if it does, I put a thin line of hot glue along the edges of the ribbon and close it shut. not problems after that.

Yes! That's what happens. I just made some a little while ago using tape and hot glue. I'm hoping the resins stay put!
