I agree, the type of fabric you use will make them look different. I actually like the sating ones a lot, they just look so pretty and sweet and elegant. Lovely! Post pictures if you make any, I'd love to see them.

Mama-j wholesales the satin ribbon ones if you can't figure it out...

Thank you for your interest in my headbands! Getting the look of my rosettes took me a while to perfect. I have always liked the cleaner look vs the frayed style, unfortunately, to get the clean look it requires extra steps than what you find in the tutorials (I learned that the hard way with many wasted hours, lol).

The felt on the back is how you keep them in place and it acts as a nice liner on the inside of the elastic.
The elastic is just fold over elastic. YOu can find it on etsy or shop here on hg for it. it's 5/8" wide usually.

You could do it with two pcs of felt but I think it's cleaner when you do top to bottom ~ flowers, then elastic, then felt. Totally up to you

Someone around here - i think mama j - sells the rolled satin rosettes
Now I have a question on how you apply all the flowers and feathers. Are you saying you don't glue all the flowers together with a felt backing, you glue the flowers and feathers, etc, to the foe, then apply the felt in the same size/shape to fit behind all the flowers and things and apply the felt to the back of the foe, to hold it all in place? I know, it sounds like I just repeated everything you said, but is that what you meant?
Thanks,
Janice

Your items are beautiful and I agree, I like the cleaner look vs the frayed look. I have done the fold over ribbon rosettes, and the rolled flowers are my next new thing to tackle.

I have seen these headbands and read about them on the forum, but what exactly are they, why are they called fold over elastic, and do you use them for infants, little girls, or everyone?
Thanks,
Janice

Janice...they can be used by everyone. FOE is meant to be used in sewing but many of us use it as a headband. Same goes for the stretchy elastic lace.

Welcome to the group! Yes your flowers are beautiful. I like the frayed look too but what I like about yours is they look very tightly made and that makes them look neater to me.
