Jan, a zip tie is a piece of plastic that once pulled together (like in this photo), is irreversible. It has to be cut off to be removed.

Maxine, I didn't see a photo, but is it like the zip ties that come in garbage bags and you can also buy them at Home Depot and police use them sometimes instead of hand cuffs?

Yes, the cops use them sometimes, that is what you're thinking of. But the small thin ones, you can buy bags of them at Home depot.

Yeah..use the smaller ones. Dh has the big ones for work (plastic restraints---handcuffs) and they are too thick.

I was actually thinking about starting to make these! I went to a craft fair and saw tons of them in different sizes with different bows,
It really just looks like a stacked layered bows on a flip flop!
I did notice all of them have the 3/8 ribbon around the band on the flip flop, so its not just the bow glued to a flip flop

Yes, there are some beautiful ones on here like that. Alot of the ladies had problems with the ribbon staying on the bottom. The hot glue doesn't keep the ribbon on.
