Default *sigh* another twisted...

So this time I am using just plain ribbon, no patterns etc and this is what I have come up with. I tried to make the biggest 'x' I could. The first pic is just the bow on it's own and the second is with me holding a centre knot so I can't refix the shape of the bow while I'm holding it.

I'm using 5/8" ribbon as I seem to like the size of those bows.

So the verdict is.....??? (please be kind)

I will be extremely kind, cause the kind of bow makes my blood pressure go up!!! I have tried and tried and just can't get it. I don't know if I even want to anymore!! I think yours looks pretty good. I know you probably need to pull on the loops a bit, but its not bad. Everyone says it takes practice, so thats what I'm doing. I think you're very close.

From what I can tell the 2nd pic looks pretty good One of the things I do to get my loops perky enough is put my fingers in one top loop and one bottom loop at the same time and then spread them apart. That often times will help get them to where they need to be rather than trying to do both top loops at the same time. Does that make sense? What size template are you using?

I may not be the best person to comment as I have a heck of a time with these bows too, but I think your second one looks pretty good.

They look pretty good.

One tip that I have along the line of one of the others is that I open it up at the center. I grab where my thread is when I sew it and I pull up and down on the top and bottom but not by the loops by the center. It pulls the ribbon apart a bit and helps get that perky shape I like.

Thanks ladies, I think I just need to play around with the loops more once I am finished and they'll be ok. I am just a perfectionist nothing I ever do is good enough lol

I am using a 3.5" template. I have tried suing the 4" template with the 5/8 ribbon and it just seems too big.

Can you take a pic of the backside before you cinch the center together? Maxine posted some of my step by step pics on the TBB on here. I think the subject of the thread was something like Will it ever get any easier or something along that line. There are detailed pics of how I do my TBB bows.
