I did it the best I could, that ribbon was kind of thick. I will try to pinch it tighter next time.

It is hard to sew when the ribbon is thick or stiff IMO. The needle I use is SUPER long and I always sew up the bow keeping all the ribbon on the needle and then scrunch the ribbon and support the crease with my left hand (hold it by the middle all scrunched up) before I pull the needle all the way through and wrap the thread around and then tie it off. I'm so horrible at explaining things, but HTH! Really, practice, practice, practice. But you are on the right track, I think.

I understand what you mean and that would probably help. I was having a hard time pulling it tight with just the thread but if it's on the needle still then it should be easier to scrunch.

Be careful when if you use a regular needle to sew the middle. I've had them break on me AND IT HURTS!!!

Now, I use a leather needle. It goes through the thick and/or stiff ribbon without bending or breaking.

Looks like you are doing good! Just pull your loops a little more to make it more twisted and it should be perfect. And yes, just watch your ribbon in the back to make sure that it stays straight. And 3 stitches through the middle.

I'm sure I'm going to sound dumb, but when you guys say to pull the loops is it already stitched? I have pulled at them, left it and it seems to have 'shriveled' up, if that makes sense.

Pull the loops before you sew to make the bow more twisted. And then after you sew them, pull on the loops some more to get them to take shape and then starch the heck out of it! lol
