Default making woven headband non-slip

i posted this in the discussion forum although it appears that no one goes over there.
i made a woven adjustable headband and it slips on my dd's head.
i thought of the following possible solutions:
1. velcro - but the fuzzy side does not seem like it would add traction and the grippy side would hurt pressed straight against the head
2. velvet ribbon - again not sure how much traction this would provide
3. the hold it carpet tape - not sure how well this would work since there is no clip but i was thinking small strips across the top of the head.
4. shelf liner - again in small strips across the top of the head but again not sure if this would hold well since it is not a clip

any ideas or suggestions or experience with this?

I used the velcro in dds headband. She hasn't complained about it hurting.

I used the velcro and put one on. I didn't wear for long, but it didn't hurt me. That is what this site does too:

I used the stratchy side, I think it is the "hooks" side. I do it just about 4 inches, so it will be at the top of the head.

thanks ladies!

do you think a small piece of velcro would work in the woven adjustable headbands? (not the ones on the plastic headband base...the basket weave one...thus the concern over hurting)
