Default Kanzashi flower help!

Just a few questions... spraying the fabric with fabric stiffener, should i spray before or after i cut to size. does the fabric stiffener stink? should i not do it in a closed bedroom? [im pregnant] how long does it take to dry? should i iron before spraying??
please help lol

I have only made a couple (which makes me no expert but thought I would give my opinion since I just started making them also) and I didn't spray the fabric with anything ( 1 instructions said to spray and the others didn't say anything about spraying so I chose not to spray) and they turned out great.

Spray starch is what I used, I'm not very good at these flowers though LOL. I starched (and Ironed) the entire piece then cut my pieces with a rotary cutter on a mat. As for fumes - read the label of whatever you're using for information. Usually it'll say use in a ventilated area or if you're pregnant. HTH!

i made one already without spraying anything but the petals wont stay up so i figured i would spray the crap out of it next time lol
is a rotary cutter alot better to cut the fabric than scissors?
