If you know how to make them on a french clip, its the same thing for alli clip. It is a little harder, casue you have to keep the alli clip open, but it can be done!

Those are so cool!

I think I saw someone on here doing them on alligator clips, but i cant remember for sure...
I'm sure it's the same basic idea, wrapping the wire or string around whatever base you have, kwim?
Good luck in your search

Just saw the other post about the alli clips (duh)

THANKS!! It's the same concept as if you were to do it on a french barrette, its just a matter of keeping the heaband stretched while you are doing to the loops and also straight because it will start to twist around once you have a couple of loops on there....also once you finish the headband will look all twisted and weird but once its on the head it straightens out....HTH

When I make mine on an alli I do it exactly the same as on a french clip except that I partiallly cover the clip from the back first and only cover the top, then I leave the rest of the ribbon hanging then I wrap the ribbon around and when I am all done I use the hanging ribbon to cover the underside (over all of my threads) I hope that makes sense!

That helps so much! It is what I was thinking in my head but wasn't sure if it would actually work. Thanks for posting, I really appreciate it!

Thanks,
How do you keep the alligator clip open while you are working on it and how do you keep the loops from sliding off the tip end as there is no "stop" there like on the french clips?
Thanks,
Janice

not sure if i can explain how i do it . . . but i slice a plastic milk jug into long thin strips (or whatever firm, thin plastic you have on hand) and make it on the long strip (i measure/mark the strip so i don't get carried away - make it 8" long!) . . . and then cut the long strip & hot glue (or whatever glue you prefer) it to the alligator/french clip and then also secure it with the thread to the clip base.

my thread always kept on getting tangled/frayed/broke from the french clip . . . so i changed over to this way.

works for me!
