Default rate my twisteds!

I know there has been a lot of 'twisted' help lately on the forum and I decided to give it another go today after getting the shits with it last night...

SO.....

The bow on the left is my first (old) bow and the one of the left is the one I did today....I just feel there is something that I'm not doing right. These aren't starched or anything yet so maybe that would make a difference?

Would really love some pointers, advice or just comments...

It's looking good. Just give your loops a bit of pull apart from each other, if you know what I mean. Once you add your centre they always look 10 times better as well. But I think you're doing great.

Ok so I took my first one I made and pulled the loops apart (well what I gathered as 'apart' lol) and this is what I've come up with. I also added a little white centre knot.

Does this look a tad better now?

Yes it looks great! I'm really terrible at describing what I mean but you somehow understood what I meant

YAY! It's awesome isn't it when you finally get it right. As far as starching goes I can't help you there. I don't starch mine but I'm sure someone else will come along soon to help you.

I did my first starching yesterday. I used a 50/50 solution of Sta Flo and water.

However, I'm not sure I'm going to use this procedure. I really like Aleene's stiffener and I might be sticking with that instead.

Lol when I just read this I was worried bree would pull the loops apart the wrong way.

You did it the right way though, it looks fab now.

I've used the Craft Smart fabric stiffener from spotlight, bree. I dilute it with water in a spray bottle. It's almost like spraying light pva glue on them and they go really stiff. I'm guessing with more water they'd be less stiff. Depends how 'hard' you want them, I'm not even really sure how stiff they are supposed to be.

I used the word stiff way too many times in this post.

LoL!

But you bring up a very good point! Exactly how STIFF is a bow supposed to be?
