Default flip flops w/velcro

i am thinking of switching to velcro this year for my flip flops and would love any tips you have if this is how you have been making them.
1. what kind of velcro do you buy? industrial strength?
2. do you glue the velcro to the ff and with what? i live in a very humid climate that just eats thru glue. e6000 does not work here.
3. i dont wrap my flip flops with ribbon so i am attaching velcro to the plastic - is this how you do it?

anything else you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Whenever I do a project that the item gets alot of friction I use industrial strength.

yes i did see the video and then looked up that glue she uses and it says not to use on polyethylene - which i believe flip flops are made out of.

Great idea. This would be a great way to save $ on flip flops for my girls. Instead of a pair to match every outfit, they could have a couple pairs with a bunch of pretties to interchange.
Thanks for sharing

If you decide to try this, consider getting a compensating foot for your machine. It will make sewing the Velcro soooo much easier.

thanks for the tip on the velcro and sewing machine.
i am not wanting to use the velcro on the straps, only where it meets to secure an embellishment to it. guess i will try some shoe glue and industrial strength velcro and see what happens. thanks everybody!
