Question crochet headband tutu's

I made my first crochet headband tutu last night and it looks great but the only problem I had was the headband seemed to stretched out! Did I do something wrong? is there anyone that makes theses and can give me any tips? Thanks ladies!

do you mean it got bigger overall? it shouldn't stretch out that much but obviously the loops do stretch out when you are putting the tulle thru them.

I don't use the headbands for that reason. they always seem to get all stretched out for me.

Same here. I made one as a tutu dress and wasn't very happy with the way the crochet headband looked. It was very stretched out at the bottom where the tulle was put through. I just stick with elastic.

I made my dd a tutu dress with one and it worked fine..they do stretch but you just have to be careful not to pull the tulle too tight and it will work...Here's the last one I made...one thing that may help is I put mine on this frame and work that way. I know you can pull too tight when your just working with the headband and it's not fitted around something..does that make sense? I had to learn that the hard way.

I have only tried them once and it was horrible lol. I wondered about how to go about doing it to make the tutu dresses.

I have tried them a couple of times and mine were not sale worthy!! They were so bad I wouldn't even give them to goodwill! I stretched that poor little headband all out of shape.

I will have to try that, how do you tie the tulle on there? maybe it was the way I was tying the knots.
I have seen one made by this lady that sells them in my town and they look great. I just don't remember how she did that.
