Default How long does it take

To make your bows? Also do you make one bow at a time or do you sew bows one day line clips another and then finishe them another day? I have done both and I think I like sewing bows one day and finishing another but I line clips as I finish the bow. Either way I feel very slow!

Tell me what you all do please.

It takes me about 5 minutes to make a basic bow and 20 minutes to make an OTT bow. That is if I make them one by one. I usually do an assembly line (line clips, make bows, make spikes, etc)

I do assembly line style too. I usually measure and wrap all my ribbons, pin centers.
Then I go back and make the bows and sew as I form each one.
Then I starch and bake bows (20 Minutes)
while they are baking, I am cutting spikes, then heat seal ends
Pull bows out of oven, let cool
Finish with spikes, do surrounding loops
Assemble and sew bow together.
Then attach clips to bows
then do centers on bows
embellish bows

This is when I am doing OTT bows.
If doing basic bows, then while they are baking, I usually line clips. I usually have a bunch of clips already lined as I do those as I sit in front of the tv or when I have a chance to sit and talk on phone. Usually have a bunch in black, white, pink and red. If I need other colors (based on what bows I am making) I'll do those as I need them, but I can usually get away with the 4 basic colors.

Hope this helps (or makes sense, LOL)

ETA: I guess I didn't answer original question LOL, When I do assembly line style, this usually is a 4-5 hour endeavor when I am working to build up inventory. If doing an order and only having to do a few at a time or even one at a time, I can do a basic twisted in 5 or so minutes. OTT take about 20-30 minutes. All of this doesn't include baking time (20 minutes)

Wow you ladies are fast but I get distracted easily by my dd or the dog or friends.. Or whatever.... Dang ADD...
That and I am a bit of a perfectionist....
My oot take me like an hour to do one completely.
Now basic bows like pinwheels I can whip out no problem.

I don't really have a system. Sometimes I do it assembly-line style and other times, I'll just work on one bow until I'm finished. I only make bows for family, so there's no stress of a business pushing me.

So far, my favorite bows to make are korkers (but that could be due to the fact that I have so much trouble with the others lol )

I've always wondered this, but I guess that means I'm slow, too
It takes 5-10 minutes to completely finish a basic bow.
Any stacked bows (2 twisted, spikes, and surrounds) takes me a minimum of 30 minutes (and that's fast for me)

I do an assembly line if I'm getting ready for a show. I usually cut ribbon and sew all my twisteds in one day. The next day I can do the spikes, surrounds, and assemble. The most I've ever attempted to take to one show was 23 stacked bows that took me 3 days and wore me out

I was taking forever and getting tired so I also started an assembly line method. I only make my stuff when the kids are sleeping or at school. I first measure and cut all my ribbon, make the bows, starch them and that might be it for the night. The next night I line my clips and make my center knots. After that's all done I assemble my stuff. It goes a lot faster now.
