Try losing the glue gun AND the backing. Mine worked just as well using Beacon's Fabri-Tac fabric glue.

I had a difficult time making these at first. I never used backing. now, the only hard part is getting the center started. It's almost relaxing now (after my first 6 tries or so).

Best of luck to you!

I second the fabric tac glue, or sewing - depending on the material...I won't use a glue gun for mine. And I have never used any backing until the rosette is done. It's trial and error. Good luck!

just a quick tip on how to avoid the strings on the glue gun, put your glue sticks in the freezer and take them out as you need them!!

I use my gluegun and afterI was done i took a lighter and heated the rossette (not too close to brun the fabric) and wipe away and excess glue.

I actually used to use fabric glue which is nice but when it comes to darker, sheer fabric, the glue comes out looking a mess.
I think stiching works best for quality rosettes. Good luck!
