Question Bottle cap--NO RESIN!

Hi, I'm new to this whole bottle cap thing. They have really taken off at my daughter's school so I wanted us to try and make some together. I bought her's from a local toy store. They are not filled with resin (the image is on the inside of the cap). It's got some sort of very thin shiny coating on it and they have rinestones glued on them.

I want to make some, but don't want to fool with resin. I've been doing a lot of reading on here and it looks like several people recommend using the "X" shaped sticker maker to adhere the images to the bottle cap. Do I still need to go over that with something else to make sure it "sticks" or can I just glue the reinstones directly to the sticker? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I am by no means bottlecap maker but I have researched it! There are resin "drops" which are like stickers of clear resin (or resin-like?) bubbles for a lack of a better word. The way you would make them would be
1. attach image (with sticker maker or glue stick etc)
2. put resin drop over top of image, this protects the image. I have seen some with the rhinestones on top of the resin but not sure how to do this. I don't know if there are glitter drops or drops with rhinestones in them, the bottlecaps I've gotten with glitter or rhinestones imbedded are with actual resin.

There is at least one person on this board that sells the drops!

I don't want to use the resin domes either... they look tacky. The ones she has almost like like they painted modge podge or somehthing of that nature over them. They are recessed in the inside of the cap.

Ok, maybe tacky wasn't the right word. I didn't mean to offend! The reason I want them smooth is so we can glue little things to the pictures (like reinstones). The domes are hard and I wouldn't be able to put those over the image if it wasn't completely flat.

Do the domes stick well (if we decide to do something with just a photo) or do you add a little superglue or something extra to make sure they stay on?

I still need to know what people are using to "coat" or "go over" ones without resin.

Those ones inside the cap like that I think just use modepodge and glitter. I personally do NOT like them and think they look really cheap but that is just my personal opinion.

tacky was for sure not the right word and they stick without adding anything else to them i also glue rhinestones on top of them

also have you tried searching the forum there are tons of threads about how to make bottle caps inside and out

What is elite? I want something that is easy to do with a 9 year old, which is why I'm trying to stay away from resin.
