Question Adding a no-slip grip on a french barrette?

Can you even do such a thing?

Christine has such super fine hair that it seems no matter how tight the french barrette is, it slips down her hair When I put in a korker bow, it only stays at the top of her ponytail for a short while. (I'm going to adjust how big I make those as a first step) but...

Can you add a no slip grip to a french barrette? If so, can you please tell me what you use and how to do it?

Thanks girls

when my dd was little - i had the same problem . . . so i always used an elastic to hold the p/tail & then put bow right above elastic. goody used to make elastics with a lot of metallic that never slipped - but they've discontinued them.

nobody could tell!

lol - but that's a good ? . . . would you cut a short grippie for the bendy bar? sorry, don't know the answer!

Thanks prleaf, I appreciate your reply

I should've mentioned in my op that I do put her hair in a ponytail with elastic and then I put the bow right above it. But after a short while, it works its way down

y/welcome . . . i should have also added that my dd still has fine/slippery hair and now just wears little clips w/no elastic. i've tried everything as a grippie & the only thing that works reasonably well in her hair is velvet ribbon as the gripper. she refuses to try/wear ones w/velcro cause she thinks it will ruin/break her hair!

What if you partially line the barrette and then cut a piece of the duck no slip foam the fit the barrette?

Hi Maxine, I've personally seen this. She uses the Gripzies tho. She just put the Gripzies on the spring thingy (the thing that you take out if you line your barrettes)..Hope that make sense.

Thanks so much girls

I'm going to try lining the spring bar and see if that helps. I guess I also need to reduce the weight of the bow itself (like I mentioned in my op). I feel so bad for her when she's bobbing and jumping around and her hair bow is nearly at the back of her neck!
