Question potentially weird question(s)...

Ok, so I went to a craft show and saw a lady who was making bows and she had several pieces of different sized acrylic sheets. She said she uses them to measure, but wouldn't go into more detail...anyone use these?

I am a newbie and guestimate what size I want my bows.

Does anyone have any die-hard tips or tricks they use to measure their ribbon for their bows??

Thanks!!

Yes they were probably her templates. Some people use them and some dont. They help you make them uniform in size etc. HtH

Most sizing comes from trial and error and then you "get it". It took me a long time to get my sizes right and still I am not 100% certain still. I have a set of templates that I do use for some of my bows. I think that its easier for me personally.

She might've been using NBNG templates...

I made my templates out of flexible cutting boards. I measured 5",4"3" and 2" across, with a rectange cut out in th bottom middle, not all he way up. They are about 6-7" tall. I use tese all the tme for my bows. They are flexible so do not pull your ribbon tight. Hope that helps.

I made my own templates too! I used an old plastic binder (not the kind with the cardboard inside but a bendable plastic) and they turned out great! The link I attached has a link to a youtube video. . . it's not the same video I used but for some reason I can't seem to find the one I used!

Ok I think I used this http://www.hair-hardware.com/Make-A-...w_ep_44-1.html to make my templates! I then just did a search to find the different sizes to make! HTH!
