Default Lining clips with satin ribbon

Is it any harder to line clips with satin ribbon than grosgrain?

I'm guessing it's tough to get a smooth look.

Does anyone have any tips on this?

I'd like to do some clips lined with a satin holiday print for my girls' classmates.

TIA

I've never lined with satin ribbon but I think double sided tape might work better than hot glue. Here is the link:

yes! It is hard to get them lined nice, because the glue either punches and it doesnt lay right, and it can burn through and get our fingers when you are smoothing it...all around, I say double sided tape for sure! Trial and error has lead me to this decision myself!

I line with satin all the time! I recommend using fabri-tac... I use it for all my clips and they come out smooth and nice. It is a clear glue and you can get it pretty much at any craft or fabric store.

I have lined them with double sided tape and it works great! Don't use hot glue!

Double sided tape. I use to use fabric tac, but found out after awhile the ribbon comes off the clip.

I got lucky and happened to find some 1/2" Scotch brand double sided tape fir short money, $1.50 for about 11 yards.

Unfortunately, the ribbon I want to use to line the clips is 3/8". Can I cut the tape in half? Or can I just fold the tape over onto itself after applying it to the ribbon but before applying the ribbon to the clip?

Thanks

NO do not use scotch brand. It is not craft tape and will come off with in weeks if not days.

Oops. Glad I asked. I went to Michaels and the only brand they had was Scotch.

Would Joann's have what I need in narrower dimensions?

Thanks

I'm going to cross post this in "Supplies" and see if anyone has suggestions on what brand to use and how to find it locally.

DH suggested trying the double sided tape they use for insulation. He has a 1/2" roll of a brand called Frost King.

Thanks.
