Default Using Resin On Bottlecaps

Hi,

I made my second batch of bottlecaps using resin (I have used other products in the past, but didn't like the way it looked). So this time I had my photos printed at Walgreens so I didn't have to seal them. I used my xyron sticker maker to make them sticky. After that should I do anything else before I put theresin on? The reason why I ask is that a few of them that I did it looks like the resin got underneath and is changing the color of the picture.

Thanks for the help!!

I don't do anything to mine when I make them this way. You just have to make sure that you rub the edges of the images to make sure they seal well.

Just make sure that the sticker is adhered well to the edges. I usually go around the edges with my finger or a popsicle stick to make sure there aren't any openings for the resin to seep under.

I am having somewhat of the same problem. I print my images on my printer and I put them on the cap with mod-podge and then put the resin on the top. They used to turn out fine, but recently the resin has been getting under the image and making a damaged edge around the image. Is there something else that I can use to seal the image to the cap other than mod-podge?

I used modge podge too but didn't like the way it made my image look after it dried. So now I use the xyron sticker maker to make them sticky.

How long should it take for the resin to dry completely so when you touch it it's not tacky or your fingerprint doesn't show on it?

Use a Xyron - not MP. After you put your image on the cap, turn it upside down and press it really hard and all around the edges on the white Xyron paper you just peeled the image from on a towel. Does that make sense??

Depending on which resin you are using, it should be dry with no prints in about 24 hours. Et does take a while and is very dependent on your weather.
