Does anyone make the velcro baby bows

I teach at an alternative center with lots of girls who have small babies/young children. Most of them are African American and want bows attached to velcro. I've never used these. I've seen them, but I have no clue as to how to actually make them. Do I just sew a couple like 1in pieces of velcrow together and stitch a small bow to the velcro or what?

This is what i would do but I have never made them... Cut your velcro in the length you want and sew one end or side.. Then you attach the bow to the top by sewing or gluing.. I dont remember if I saw this somewhere or not but this is how I would do it.

That's how the ones at Claires are made. Chloe had some when she was a baby.

I like the way she put the velcro on the ribbon instead of just sewing the velcro together. I would have just sewed it together, I hadn't thought about putting it on the ribbon like hers.

i have some i made like that.. my daughter is biracial so her hair is thick and curly.. it stays in her hair just fine but ive always wondered how well it would stay in super fine straight hair

heres some links of mine..

i created a "barrette" with the ribbon
then glued and sewed the bows to the outside "barrette"
then used fabric tac to glue the velcro to the insides of the "barrette"

hope that makes sense.. im not to good at trying to describe with words =\

really nice job! they look great and your instructions are totally understandable.

did you double the ribbon for the "barrette"? or did you seal the ends?

thanks!!

my baby has the finest 5 hairs on her head. LOL. I have to try these!

aw thanks!! :)

i guess its called doubled.. i took the ribbon.. heat sealed the ends.. folded in half.. then halfed the halves and glued them together.. make sense?
its thicker and when the glue dries it makes it stiff and sturdy.. but its all one peice of ribbon? the heated sealed ends end up in the crease of the barrette.. that sounds so confusing to me lol but im glad it makes sense for you! :)

if you get to try it lemme know how it comes out.. and if it works on your daughters hair(s) hehe ;)
