Default Single or Double, Full or Partial?

Can I ask you wonderful experienced ladies, what is the difference or is it just preference to use double or single prong clips, and lining it fully or partially only?
I am making a bunch for my nieces and would like to know which way to do it.

Thanks!

I personally haven't been able to note any difference between double and single (although it seems single partially lined is easiest to put on my twins' hair).

I prefer single prong, partial lined clips for my daughter. They are easier to get in her hair when it's pulled back.

I think the singles are slightly less expensive. I would have thought that the double would stay in the hair better but I did notice on a recent Group Buy (on the sales board) that most, if not all, were buying singles.

And you are absolutely correct, it is harder to slide the bottom half of the clip through hair if its lined.

I prefer the partially lined singles for the reasons that were stated above.

I used to fully line them but now I feel it is a waste of ribbon. I still do use double prong when a customer asks me to. I am still teetering on whether or not to fully line those or partially line them. If they want gripzies on a double then I flully line it. Gripzies on a single I still partially line as well.

I partially line all of my clips and I do a mix of double prong and single prong. I like single best because they slide into woven headbands easier. But, I have some customers asking for double prong particularly for larger bows.

Mostly single prong for things meant for little girls...double prong for tweens and adults or larger heavier bows/flowers...I always to partially lined with the ends tucked.

What do you mean with the ends tucked? Do you mean in the back, the end part is folded so it's neater?

thanks everyone!

When I started making bows, I used fully lined double-prong ali clips. I have since switched to partially lined single prong clips - I personally think they hold better in the hair. I sometimes use gripzies or the duck foamy tape stuff, too, depending on what kind of hair the little one has.
