Yes, I spent a lot of time trimming! But, I am wondering if I used too much tulle - that would explain the 'oval' shape (and need for much trimming). I tied the center with quardupled beading thread, and it was as tight as it would go, but the center was still probably about as big around as a nickel or even a quarter, which explains why the pieces can be pulled out. It is not as if they just fall out, but it would not last being played with. It has been fun trying the different types, and I think I will try one more pom pom not quite as loaded. Then quit!

My 4" diameter donut (with a hole in the middle of about 1.5-2") gave me a HUGE pom (probably a good 6" diameter). So I'd just do one to see what you think and then you can adjust.

Let us know how you do.

Uhhhhhh Is it just me or is the last picture looking like a view a gynecologist would see???????????? I expect to see a baby coming out of that one! LOL

Will try again.

You wanna know what I really like about this project???? I can make my husband make some when he watches a movie at night! LOL This seems man-proof (I do NOT have enough time to make all my stuff!)

Wow! That looks great! You are too funny about the OB version of the pom!

Your finished product (prior to trimming) looks so good. When mine was at that stage it needed a severe haircut. I spent about 20 minutes trimming and it still needs more (and it's pretty big).

Okay, I'm going to try this again. My husband asked me this morning why I had to read the SAME posts over and over--didn't I check this yesterday?! I had to laugh. He just doesn't know the satisfaction of figuring something like this out and making it. And then finally making it the right way! These boards are great and everyone is so helpful.

Tulle Pom Pom satisfaction is on its way (I hope).

The puffball is as full as the other one I made and just as secure - you have to pull tight!

Lorraine
So now you have to glue your dowel in. Whacha gonna use? Hot glue? Fabric-Tac? I'm betting lots of things would work for this. With a bow (one hopes) it won't get messed with too much, but the wands are supposed to be bopped around and waved around (I'm thinking of my own darlings) so I'm going to have to get something that will be secure.

Once I get a good one I may be too scared to mess it up with glue. Ha ha.
