I marked a glass cutting board and use the wood burner. I also use a piece of corian that I had as a cutting board, it works well but the wood burner will mark it up.

Corian isn't heat resistant since it is a plastic. But I like the idea of using it as a measuring board or cutting area. It scratches, but maybe it won't gouge?
