If you take pictures it would be great. i bought the material in L.A. every color and he said its silk. it frays just like it, i had to use a little of the fray check so that it doesn't fray as much

I used felt because when you sew it it bunches it up a little and makes it stick up a bit. Hold everything down in the middle and put a bunch of stitches in the middle. Does anyone know what kind of material she uses? I don't like mine. I want it to fray like that. If you still don't understand I can try and take pics when I make another one for my SILs. I really want that material though.

not sure if you can see it but it looks similar to the material she uses, stiff and it frays.

It looks like dupioni silk. I have made similar flowers and I also have the Snazzie Drawers tutorial but hers is different.
I will try to take step by step pics of how I do it.

I don't seem to understand where you gathered the fabric, in the middle of the strip? Then you just sew in a circle laying fabric on top of fabric???

I am so visual i am having troubles with the process...

Ok it is sort of like this only you stitch down the middle and use very big stitches. Then sew it down on top of felt or something similar to it. I hope this doesn't just confuse you more. lol
