Default Crochet Headbands Measurements

Do you talented ladies have specific measurements when making crochet headbands for babies, toddlers and little girls? Or is it just one measurement for all sizes?

Could somebody share with me those measurements??? You can PM me if you prefer.

Well I guess I will measure one that my ODD has and double the measurement. I will have to try it on my YDD and see if it fits her too. If you want the measurements just PM me...

Usually they're 7" wide laid flat on a table. So you would need to do 14" plus if you are doing a 1/4" seam an additional 1/2" or whatever you need for the seam. HTH

Where are you buying the material to make them?

I measured one I had here and unstretched it was 13" around. Once I stretched it to it's maximum length it was 23". I thought both measurements might help in case your by the yard stuff is more or less stretchy. Don't forget the seam allowance as a previous poster pointed out.

thank you so much just made one when flat its about 7 1/4 inch and i can stretch it flat to about 12 or 13 so it sounds about right, yeah. ill post pictures later after i get them all done. 1 yard is enough to make 2 headbands and i am using the left over scraps to make the hoop at the top so they can be interchangeable ones. so i guess .50 a band, not great but good in a jiffy.

I just got to measuring mine but one is 7" flat and the other is 5" so I don't know which measurement to try LOL Both fit my 7 y/o and my 2 y/o so I guess its the same measurement for any size.

I got mine at HL by the roll at 99 cents a yard... UUUMMM Guess that is not a good deal plus is a hassle to get the right measurement. I am just starting out and didn't want to invest a lot of $$$ is they wouldn't sell, kwim?

How good do these sell for you? Is it better to make them interchangeble or not? Better seller with bows or flowers?

So many questions!!!! I want to do craft shows next year so I am trying to make inventory since I have none

Thanks for the help!
